even though it’s widely beloved, fall isn’t my favorite season. That’s mostly because it starts the long, unpleasant slog toward winter, and knowing what’s coming for those of us in the Northeast makes it challenging for me to delight in the approach. One thing I do love about fall, though, is how numerous lush textures the season brings into my wardrobe; soft-as-butter knits and plush furs (faux for me, real for you if that’s your thing) just don’t happen in summer. I became interested in adding a little shearling to my wardrobe last year, and this fall, my interest has only intensified.

Based on the broad range of shearling bags and accessories currently available, it looks like I’m not the only one who wants to get my hands on some sheepskin. like all speciality materials, shearling is available in abundance at top-tier price points, but if you’re wanting to spend fewer than four figures, there are a surprisingly high number of options, both real and faux. We shopped around for the best; check out our picks below if your fall wardrobe could use an infusion of texture.
