We’re two weeks into the new year, and although I feel like I’m surrounded by resolutions, I haven’t made any of my own. I have never been a resolution-ist, and while in some previous years I would say I’d eat better, workout more, travel a lot more or learn a new language, I never followed through. but this year, I made a decision on some resolutions that I not only want to do, but that I think I will do, and they revolve around my handbags.

Here are my handbag resolutions for 2015. Do you have any? If so, leave them in the comments.

1. change out my bag a lot more often
I own a lot of handbags; the number is into the hundreds. I am a creature of habit, though, and when I find a bag that I like carrying, I carry it for a while. often a few weeks at a timem often a month-plus. It indicates lots of of my handbags are just sitting idly, collecting dust.

This year, I want to change out my bags a lot more often. It doesn’t just indicate that I get to use a lot more of the bags I own, but I get to know them better and see what I like and don’t like, and all that information indicates a lot more Purseonals, obviously!

2. carry my ‘nice’ bags freely
I know this resolution sounds absurd, and it’s tied very closely with my first resolution. Last year, I shared that often I’m terrified to carry my great bags, and considering that I wrote that post, I’ve been much better about it. This year, I want to continue to make it a priority.

Quite a few of the bags I own can be seen as investment pieces, but I didn’t get them for that reason; I gotten them because I love them and want to use them. using a bag indicates it will show wear or might get a scuff, and it might even have my jeans bleed onto it. Of course I will still treat my bags very well, but I want to make sure to use them, not just look at them.

3. edit my handbag collection
I’ve pretty much never gotten rid of a single bag that I own. I’m overly attached to my bags and I keep them all. some of them I will a lot of likely never wear again for various reasons. a lot of like, because they’re overused, out of style, over-worn, or I’m simply just over it.

Most of my a lot more expensive designer bags are bags I very carefully thought out, so not only did they make sense when I gotten them, but they have staying power. lots of of the contemporary bags I own are a lot more seasonal, plus lots of don’t keep as well as premium designer bags do. I want to edit my collection down a bit and donate some of my older bags that I don’t use.

4. add bags that are missing from my collection
I was setting up my bags in my new closet last week and realized I don’t have a terrific tan bag. I also don’t have a terrific buyer tote. When I have the opportunity to look in any way my bags it’s much easier to see exactly what I have and what I’m missing.

The truth is I don’t need any new bags, but if I am to get any new bags this year, I want them to be bags my collection needs. maybe it’s a brand I am lacking or a style or color I don’t have, but I want my bag purchases of 2015 to make sense for my collection.

5. clean out the contents of my bag
One of my personal favorite categories on PurseBlog is “What’s in Her Bag.” I love getting to see what bags people carry and what they have inside. However, either I’m the messiest bag person ever or people just like to share the good and not the bad. (The latter is the truth.) I was going through my bags recently and realized how much garbage I accumulate in them–like, actual garbage. I use an EmergenC packet and then put the empty packet back in my bag and forget to throw it away.

I don’t expect a best interior, but I need to be better about cleaning out my bags after I use them so that when I pull them back out, they aren’t filled with junk.

Those are my handbag resolutions, what are yours for 2015?
